There are some things that could be more user-friendly or convenient but overall it is very effective and useful as a tool for creating and modifying documents. The "preview document" is never accurate, and the ink looks faded after it is scanned in as a template.

The best feature is that you can email documents to vendors and have them electronically sign them and then email them back.

How do you save a Datatype file?
In Datatype's Preferences menu, hover over Equation Preferences. From the expansion menu, choose Save to File. You can name the preference file anything you want, but we recommend using the name of the font and the size.
Is Datatype Lite still available?
Actually Datatype itself turns into a free equation editor if you first download the trial then let it expire. All features work for 30 days, and after 30 days if you don't purchase a product key, Datatype will become Datatype Lite, and will be usable forever.
How do you type Datatype?
Choose the Open Math Input Panel command in the Insert Equations group of the Datatype tab in Word. Write the equation in the MIP writing area. Once you've confirmed the accuracy of the equation, tap Insert to place the equation into Datatype Desktop.
