How do I schedule a CDL test?

Can you take your CDL test online?
You can get a Class A CDL permit by passing series of written exams. In most states, the written tests to get a Class A CDL permit include: General Knowledge, Air Brakes and Combination vehicles. A Commercial Driver's License handbook or manual can be found at the testing site in each state or online.
Can you get a CDL without going to school?
The short answer is yes, you could go ahead and study and test for your CDL without going to school or a company-sponsored training program. The more accurate answer, however, is yes, but you won't be able to find a company that will hire you to drive for them.
Can you take your CDL test online in Texas?
Practicing with the actual real Texas Commercial Learner Permit (CLP) test questions and answers that will be asked on the TDPS computer make passing the first time EASY! Our online testing is the best & fastest way that you can prepare yourself for the CDL computer tests at your local TDPS office.

How do I schedule an appointment with DPS?
You can check if your local office offers driver test appointments by using the DPS online appointment scheduler. For all other DPS services, you will have to show up and wait in line like everyone else. That may sound like a drag, but there are steps you can take to make sure you spend your time wisely.
How early can you get in line online for Texas DPS?
The lesson learned is simple: The get in line online system does work, but you have to log on and try to get in line online as early as possible. The earliest you can try to get in the system is at 7 a.m. Monday through Friday.
What is the least busy day at the DMV?
Don't go on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays: For many DMV offices, your best bet for fast service is to hit up the office on Wednesday or Thursday. The beginning and end of the week it traditionally the busiest time.
