The informed delivery system is not accurate. We sometimes find the same item scanned for two or three days before it is delivered.
Does inform delivery show all mail?
You can view the delivery status of packages at the bottom of your Informed Delivery® email. The daily email digest will not always show all packages destined to your address that day. i.e., items scanned into our system after the email has been sent.
Does inform delivery delay mail?
Informed Delivery® provides notifications for tailpieces arriving soon — not necessarily tailpieces arriving that same day. Pieces can be delayed in getting to your mail carrier. Or, unfortunately, a tailpiece could be misdelivered. We ask that you allow several days for delivery after receiving the notification.
Is informed delivery accurate?
The informed delivery system is not accurate. We sometimes find the same item scanned for two or three days before it is delivered.
Where does inform delivery get scanned?
Tailpiece scans are generated on postal equipment, and users get actual gray scale scans of the mail pieces before they are delivered. These scans are provided through a portal/app, or through email notification and app/portal access. The images are usually posted early on the delivery date.
Is USPS informed delivery secure?
Security and privacy Because Informed Delivery offers increased visibility into both mail and packages being delivered to an individual's address, USPS follows industry best practices verifying identity, including the use of a mail-based verification letter.
How accurate is informed delivery USPS?
Now they'll all get delivered and probably on time as USPS is quite reliable that way, but the Informed Delivery system is completely useless at finding any packages. Although most people don't read the fine print, it also makes it clear any information about delivery date is a guess.
