In SQL Server Management Studio, select Object Explorer. In Object Explorer, connect to an instance of SQL Server, and then expand that instance. Find and expand the Management section (assuming you have permissions to see it). Right-click SQL Server Logs, select View, and then choose SQL Server Log.
Right-click SQL Server Logs, point to View, and then click either SQL Server Log or SQL Server and Windows Log. Expand SQL Server Logs, right-click any log file, and then click View SQL Server Log. You can also double-click any log file.
The transaction log is an integral part of SQL Server. Every database has a transaction log that is stored within the log file that is separate from the data file. A transaction log basically records all database modifications. When a user issues an INSERT, for example, it is logged in the transaction log.
Log on to the Web server computer as Administrator. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. Double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Internet Services Manager. Select the Website from the list of different served sites in the pane on the left.
To use the Activity Monitor, type Ctrl-Alt-A or click the icon within the SUMS toolbar. You can use the Activity Monitor to get real-time insights into the demand on your SQL Server instance. The Overview section shows four graphs that display work and resource metrics in real time.
Log on to the Database Server computer with an Administrator account. Start Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio. In the left pane, verify the SQL Server Agent is running. If the SQL Server Agent is not running, right-click SQL Server Agent, and then click Start. Click Yes.
In SQL Server Management Studio, right click on Server, choose “Activity Monitor” from context menu -or- use keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + A.
