For pdfFiller’s FAQs

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Typical severance packages often offer one to two weeks of paid salary for every year worked. You have 21 days to accept a severance agreement, and once it's signed, you have seven days to change your mind.
You will receive monthly payment for a period of time that is equal for two times the number of total years in the service. For instance, if you had 10 years of service at separation, you would receive a yearly VS payment for 20 years with prorated partial years as well.
Involuntary Separation Pay This is a one-time, lump sum payment. There are two levels of Involuntary Separation Pay: full and half. Full Involuntary Separation Pay can only be paid to veterans who have an honorable discharge. It is calculated by multiplying monthly base pay x 12 x 10% x years of service.
If a member has received a separation payment, and then becomes eligible to receive retirement pay for the same period of service, he or she will be required to repay the separation pay before the full retirement benefit can be restored.
Members who separate from the military before they are eligible for retirement may receive separation or severance pay. If you were discharged from active duty and received Special Separation Benefit or Voluntary Separation Incentive, read about VS/SSB Recoupment before you consider applying for retirement.
FSA is payable at the rate of $250 per month (pro-rated to $8.33 per day for periods less than a month). To apply for FSA, you should submit a completed DD Form 1561, Statement to Substantiate Payment of Family Separation Allowance (FSA), to your servicing personnel office.
Family Separation Allowance. A service member with dependents who serve an unaccompanied tour of duty may be entitled to a Family Separation Allowance of up to $250 a month. For your personalized pay and allowance computation check out our Military Pay Calculator.
A service member can qualify for both FSA I and FSA II simultaneously during the same time period. Both types are payable along with any other per diem payments or allowances already granted. FSA is payable at the rate of $250 per month. It can also be pro-rated to $8.33 per day for periods less than a month.
