For pdfFiller’s FAQs

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
In American English, the currency symbol is placed before the amount; the same is true for British English.
USD is the international currency code established by the ISO to represent the American dollar. It is composed of the country code (US), followed by the letter “D” for “dollar.” Write the dollar figure first, followed by a non-breaking space and the code: 350 000 USD.
When written out, “euro” is placed after the value in lower case; the plural is used for two or more units, and (in English) euro cents are separated with a point, not a comma (e.g., 1.50 euro, 14 euros).
In most European countries, a comma is used to separate the integral part of a number from the decimal part. This means, for example, that three hundred euros and ten cents is written as 300,10with a comma as a decimal marker.
The 50 euro cent coin (0.50) has a value of half a euro and are composed of an alloy called Nordic gold. All coins have a common reverse side and country-specific national sides. The coin has been used since 2002, with the present common side design dating from 2007.
In short, the symbol for the currency always goes in front of the amount (only used in writing), and the word for the currency always goes after the amount (in writing and speech). I agree with Dane graphics, but let me add a couple of notes: If you use the “$” symbol, then it always goes before the amount, e.g. “$20”.
For example, to type (euro symbol), press Alt + E ; to type £ (pound symbol), press Alt + L. Stop the mouse over each button to learn its keyboard shortcut. Alt + click a button to copy a single character to the clipboard. You can select text and press Ctrl + C to copy it to your document.
But if you write out the word “dollars”, then you write it like we say it, and it comes after the amount, e.g. “twenty dollars”. If you need to distinguish US dollars from, say, Canadian dollars, it's common to put an abbreviation of the country name before the dollar sign, like “US$ 20” or “CAN 20”.
