For pdfFiller’s FAQs

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
The shape number of a curve is derived for two-dimensional (2D) non-intersecting closed curves that are the boundary of simply connected regions. ... Each curve carries within it its own shape number. The order of the shape number indicates the precision with which that number describes the shape of the curve.
In computer vision, a chain code is a sequence of numbers representing directions when following the contour of an object. ... In this case, 00110026202011676122 is the shape number of the shape above.
Sometimes, only the outline or external boundary of the object is considered to determine its shape. ... Simple shapes can often be classified into basic geometric objects such as a point, a line, a curve, a plane, a plane figure (e.g. square or circle), or a solid figure (e.g. cube or sphere).
In the time of the fertile crescent, the Phoenicians came up with a communication system, which we know as the alphabet. They also developed the number system. The way the numbers 0-9 got their shape is all because of the amount of angles they have.
Geometric shapes are the ones we first learn about as little kids. They're the simplest, most common shapes of all: squares, circles, triangles and their derivatives, such as rectangles, ovals and polygons.
There are two types of shapes: geometric and free-form. Geometric shapes are precise shapes that can be described using mathematical formulas. Geometric shapes include circle, square, triangle, oval, rectangle, octagon, parallelogram, trapezoid, pentagon, and hexagon.
A chain code is a lossless compression algorithm for monochrome images. The basic principle of chain codes is to separately encode each connected component, or “blob”, in the image. ... This encoding method is particularly effective for images consisting of a reasonably small number of large connected components.
In this section we discuss basic geometric shapes and figures such as points, lines, line segments, planes, angles, triangles, and quadrilaterals. ... Like a point, a line is an undefined term used to describe a tightly stretched thread or a laser beam. We can say that a line is a straight arrangement of points.
Tick marks (shown in orange) indicate sides of a shape that have equal length (sides of a shape that are congruent or that match). The single lines show that the two vertical lines are the same length while the double lines show that the two diagonal lines are the same length.
The line is a polygon in computing, since it is composed of 3 or more points, connected by straight lines. ... According to most definitions of a polygon in geometry, polygons are 2-dimensional shapes. The shape in your post is only one dimensional, so in my opinion it is not a polygon.
