I tried it before purchasing. The font, tick box selection and general feel is better, in my opinion, than that I have experienced with Adobe. My abilities are significantly challenged due to illness. The PDF document that I have to use presents with problems when I run it in other edit utilities. I may call on you if I get stuck, but so far I am favorably impressed with this product. Thanks. ;-)

To convert text into a shape, right-click on the text layer, and choose Convert To Shape. Then select the Direct Selection tool (the white arrow tool) by pressing Shift A and click-and-drag the points in the path to give the characters a new shape.
First, you'll need to insert a shape by going to Insert > Shapes. We're going to use a nice rounded rectangle, which by default will be filled in with blue. Right-click anywhere in your shape and click the Add Text command. This places an insertion point in the shape where you can type your text.
On the Insert tab, in the Illustrations group, click Shapes, and then click the shape that you want. Drag to create the shape. The shape is automatically selected. On the Drawing Tools tab, in the Insert Shapes group, click Edit Text. Type the text that you want.
Open your document in Microsoft Word. Click the “Insert” tab, then click the “Shapes” drop-down menu and select the heart shape from the Basic Shapes section. Place the cursor on the spot in the document where you want to place the heart shape. Hold down the left mouse button and drag the mouse to draw the heart.
Windows: Press and hold the Alt key, then press 3 on the numeric keypad on the right side of your keyboard. This will insert the heart symbol (). Alt+3 is an example of a Windows Alt code, which is an easy way to enter hundreds of special characters in Windows.
Here's how: STEP ONE: Open Silhouette Studio. Using the 'Text tool, type in the words you'd like, select a font and fill color, change the line color to none, and drag one of the corners to resize the text to the size you want. Type it in as one long line without hitting return/enter.
