ABET accreditation is assurance that a college or university program meets the quality standards established by the profession for which it prepares its students. For example, an accredited engineering program must meet the quality standards set by the engineering profession.
That's where ABET accreditation plays a very important role by assuring confidence and supporting global career mobility in the fields they accredit. ABET accreditation: Assures prospective students that a program has received international recognition of its quality. Promotes “best practices” in education.
ABET, incorporated as the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc., is a non-governmental organization that accredits post-secondary education programs in applied and natural science, computing, engineering and engineering technology.
Our accreditation is voluntary, and to date, 4,144 programs at 812 colleges and universities in 32 countries have received ABET accreditation. Over 100,000 students graduate from ABET-accredited programs each year, and millions of graduates have received degrees from ABET-accredited programs since 1932.
Accreditation is the recognition of an external organization about the education quality of a program or an educational organization. ABET is an organization that accredits the quality of education programs in Engineering, Technology, Computing and Applied Science areas.
Complete the Readiness Review by October 1. 1 year before your On-Site Visit. Submit your Request for Evaluation by January 31. Complete and submit your Self-Study Report by July 1. The On-Site Visit takes place September December. Due Process and the Accreditation Decision.
