Learn the steps on how to put a line above a letter or text in Microsoft Word. From here, select the option Overbear which can be found under the subheading 'Overbears and Under bars'.
An overlie, over score, or overbear, is a typographical feature of a horizontal line drawn immediately above the text. In mathematical notation, an overlie has been used for a long time as a cingulum, a way of showing that certain symbols belong together.
Start opening the document in Word where you want to add the overlie. Position the cursor at the point where you want to put the text you're going to overbear. Press Ctrl + F9 on your keyboard and the field code brackets will appear.
