For pdfFiller’s FAQs

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
You may use the default text size for your notes. The preferred method is to use the same font and font size as your text (12 pt font Times New Roman) Footnotes should be placed at the end of all punctuation except the dash.
Fonts must be 10, 11, or 12 points in size. Superscripts and subscripts (e.g., formulas, or footnote or end note numbers) should be no more than 2 points smaller than the font size used for the body of the text.
The font size should be 12 pt. Leave only one space after periods or other punctuation marks (unless otherwise prompted by your instructor).
Change the footnote font size, and formatting To change the font, size and formatting of footnotes: Click the HOME tab, and then in the Styles group, click the arrow for more options. Or, press ALT+CTRL+SHIFT’S. At the bottom of the Styles pane, click the Manage Styles button.
A common 10 or 12 point font (Times New Roman is good). Margins: 1.5 inches on the left, 1 inch each for top, bottom and right.
Chicago/Arabian Basics: Footnotes Any additional usage, simply use the author's last name, publication title, and date of publication. Footnotes should match with a superscript number at the end of the sentence referencing the source. You should begin with 1 and continue numerically throughout the paper.
Place your cursor in the body text where you want the footnote superscript to appear. Select the References tab in the ribbon toolbar. Click Insert Footnote. ... Type your footnote according to style. Repeat the process for every additional footnote.
Citing in the Text. The Chicago style, when referring to a source of information within the text of a document, in its simplest form, gives a short citation consisting of the name of the author (or authors) and the date of publication. The short references within the text are given wholly or partly in round brackets.
Using footnotes for citations This means that if you want to cite a source, you add a superscript number at the end of the sentence that includes the information from this source. This number corresponds to a footnote or end note citation, where you include information such as the author, title of work, date, etc.
About Chicago Style There are two parts to referencing: the citations within the text of your paper and the reference list at the end of your paper. Chicago's style is an “author-date” style, so the citation in the text consists of the author(s) name and year of publication given wholly or partly in round brackets.
