Place your graduation announcement into the inside envelope with the folded edge inserted first and the front of the announcement facing the flap. If included in your order, apply the envelope seal on the flap of the inside envelope to secure it closed.

Envelopes. Place the announcement in the inner envelope with the folded edge being inserted first, with the front of the announcement facing the flap. Then, apply a foil envelope seal, if included with your order. Place the inside envelope facing toward the back of the outside envelope when inserting.
Formally address the mailing envelope by hand. Use titles like “Ms.” or “Dr.” Spell out words completely, rather than using abbreviations, like “Street” rather than “St.” Slip the announcement, fold first and face up, into the small inner envelope. Do not lick or tuck in the inner envelope flap.

Tradition since then has held, and invitations for formal events are often sent with both inner and outer envelopes. The outer envelope contains the guest's mailing address, and the inner envelope states exactly who is invited to the event.
If your order contains tissue inserts, place the translucent paper on the inside of your announcement.
Your invitation should be inserted into the envelope face up so that the text is legible when removed from the envelope by your guests. If you are unable to insert the invitation right side up, it should be turned in the envelope counter-clockwise.
On college graduation announcements, you should always include your name, your school, the year of your graduation, and the degree you received. You shouldn't abbreviate the title of your degree. Spell out Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science instead of putting B.A. or B.S.
