Document formatting refers to the way a document is laid out on the page the way it looks and is visually organized and it addresses things like font selection, font size and presentation (like bold or italics), spacing, margins, alignment, columns, indentation, and lists.
What is meant by formatting document? The formatting of a document includes changing the appearance of the text, adding pictures and graphics and controlling the layout of the text on the page. There are different ways to format the document. The formatting toolbar is the easiest way to change any attribute.
In general, a document with standard manuscript format will have the following features: 8.5"×11" or A4 paper size. Courier or a similar monospaced serif font. 12-point (10 pitch) or 10-point (12 pitch) font size.
DOC is a document file format used by Microsoft Word, also used with most word processing software, including OpenOffice. DOC stands for Document file. A DOC file can contain formatted text, images, tables, graphs, charts, page formatting, and print settings.
Your paper should be written using a standard sheet of paper (8.5×11 inch) using a common font such as Times New Roman. Some professors may ask for a specific font, but Times New Roman is the most commonly accepted font. The entire document should be double-spaced, including the header and bibliography.
