For pdfFiller’s FAQs
Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
How should names be written?
The binomial name consists of a genus name and specific epithet. The scientific names of species are italicized. The genus name is always capitalized and is written first. The specific epithet follows the genus name and is not capitalized. There is no exception to this.
How do you properly format a paper?
Your paper should be written using a standard sheet of paper (8.5×11 inch) using a common font such as Times New Roman. The entire document should be double-spaced, including the header and bibliography. Margins on the sides, top, and bottom of the page are 1 inch.
How do you write your name in APA format?
The title of you paper: type your title in upper and lowercase letters centered in the upper half of the page. All text on the title page, and throughout your paper, should be double-spaced. The author's name (your name): beneath the title, type the author's name: first name, middle initial(s), and last name.
What person should APA be written in?
When writing in APA Style, you can use the first person point of view when discussing your research steps (“I studied “) and when referring to yourself and your co-authors (“We examined the literature “). Use first person to discuss research steps rather than anthropomorphizing the work.
Can you use the word we in APA format?
Use first-person pronouns in APA Style to describe your work as well as your personal reactions. If you are writing a paper with co-authors, use the pronoun we to refer yourself and your co-authors together.
Is APA first or third person?
The APA manual explains that third person may not always be appropriate in APA papers. When describing activities you performed in your research or when third person language may confuse the reader, use first person instead. Using the first person in such cases clarifies your intention.
Can you use my in APA?
The first-person we, our, or us is allowed in APA only to describe yourself in a group of researchers (e.g., My colleagues and I created the survey. We later analyzed the results.). The general use of we, our, or us, however, is not acceptable in scholarly writing.
