Trace ID is a system number Treasury uses to identify invoice documents in PeopleS oft. For invoice documents sent from SAP the Trace ID will consist of: PC1 to identify SAP, the fiscal year the document posts in SAP (the fiscal year it clears to Treasury from SAP), and the SAP clearing document number.
A unique number that tags a credit or debit card transaction when it goes from the merchant's bank through to the cardholder's bank. Also called a trace ID, this number is often used to determine where a transaction's funds lie at a certain time.

TRACE NUMBER — A unique number assigned to every ACH entry by an Originating Depository Financial Institution which identifies that entry within a specific ACH file. The first 8 digits of the trace number are the transit/routing number of the DFI and the last 7 digits are sequence numbers assigned by the originator.
Bring up copies of each statement listed until you find the transaction you are looking for. Note the date of the transaction and the amount, along with the transaction ID number as listed on the statement. Call or visit your bank to get more information on the transaction.
