Kara was spectacular Kara was spectacular! I was having trouble merging 35 small PDFs into a single larger document. She walked me through all the steps, and I told her what I had done and where I had run into problems. When she could not find a solution for me that way, she offered to merge all the documents for me!!! I have been working on this family project for the last 12 months and this was the final step before I could get the finished document out to everyone. Now I can do that and put this phase of the project behind me! I salute you Kara!!!

Place a sheet of graphite transfer paper graphite-side down atop the project surface, then place the original image atop the graphite paper. Trace the details of the image with a ball-point pen or dull pencil. Graphite from the transfer paper rubs off onto the project surface and can be erased, if necessary.
Well, for starters, if the person completely sucks at drawing and then suddenly has a drawing that is simply well done, you can tell it was traced. At least, most of the time it will be traced. A tracing will have long, continuous lines, while a drawing will probably have shorter, less perfect lines and corrections.
Yes for sure. Tracing can be valuable to train you to get perspective, proportions and form correctly on the paper. It is especially true for portrait drawing. You use tracing to get the shape, position of eyes, lips, nose and train yourself to be better in your freehand drawing.
Tracing as part of your own work is valid use of a tool, to develop a finer quality finished drawing, to copy your own drawing, or to incorporate studies into another work. Tracing has value on its own, it's not cheating in that sense. But it is cheating when you copy someone else's work.
The side of the tracing paper you drew on should be facing down. Rub the back of the traced drawing to transfer it onto the medium below. Use your pencil, the end of a marker, or another hard object.
Place the graphite paper coated side down on your working surface. Tape your drawing right-side-up in place on top of it.
Obtain a new surface, such as drawing paper, to transfer your drawing. Place the drawing paper on a flat, smooth surface and secure it with tape. Place the tracing paper gently on top of the drawing paper with the graphite surface face down. You may secure it in place as well.
