Track All Edits and Changes

Have you ever started editing a PDF only to get to a point where you need a version of your document that you had several steps back? Or maybe you’ve been collaborating on a document and want to use a version you had before your colleagues made changes? Well if you’ve ever been in either of these circumstances, pdfFiller has the perfect tool for you! pdfFiller ‘Versions’ tool keeps track of the changes you make after each document editing session. Here’s how it works. You may have noticed that anytime you have hit ‘Done’ after editing a document in the pdfFiller editor, a window pops open telling you that a version of your document has been saved along with the date and time.

Next time you open that document in the editor, you can click on the small double arrow on top of the ‘Versions’ bar to the right side of your editing window. When you open the Versions tool, you’ll notice a list of versions labeled with the date and time that you made specific changes to the document. When you click on one of the dates and times, you will see an orange button appear that says “Restore this Version”. Clicking on the button will reinstate the version of the document you have selected. Keep in mind that even if you reinstate an older version of the document, all the versions will continue to be stored in the list. To return to the current version, you can simply close the Versions tool. So relax! pdfFiller has got your back when it comes to keeping control of your document changes! To learn more about how the Versions tool works, check out the following video tutorial.

First time I've ever used it. It was simple enough for me. I love it! I was stuck filling out my w-2's & w-3's. I had purchased what I needed & was looking for a great program to film them out online & print. And PDF made it possible. Thanks

PDF & document tracking: know who has viewed your PDF and documents. Do you know what happens after you send a PDF file or a document? The fact is, control is often lost once a file has been sent out. There is no easy way to keep track of it and realistically, it could end up spread much further than you intended.
PDF files contain malware/virus usually categorized as DISARM attachments. These types of PDF file won't do anything until and unless you open it through a PDF reader. While opening these PDF files could execute self-execution scripts such as. Js or some other extensions.
Open the Recycle Bin by double-clicking its icon on the Desktop. Locate and then select the PDF file you need to restore. Right-click or tap-and-hold on the selection and then choose Restore.
Basically, when a scanned or image based document is opened, a yellow bar will appear on the screen. It tells you if the current document contain editable text or not.
Set Track Changes preferences Choose Edit > Preferences > Track Changes (Windows) or InCopy > Preferences > Track Changes (Mac OS). Select each type of change that you want to track. For each type of change, specify the text color, background color, and marking method.
View status & history of a PDF file Open a document for viewing. In the top right click the Info button which is the letter i in a circle. A drawer opens from the right-hand side with 4 tabs. The Activity tab shows all actions taken on the document, including when and by whom.
One amazing tool for tracking changes made to a PDF is Wondershare PDFelement. It can show you when the PDF was last edited by showing its metadata. You can also use the Compare tool to find differences with the original file. With two methods to check, you can easily find out if a PDF has been edited or not.
Once the PDF document is open, you need to enable the track changes feature. This feature might be located in different menus depending on the software you are using. Look for options like “Review” or “Comments” to access the track changes functionality.
