The results of research published today in a special issue of Current Biology on the genome-wide association study of schizophrenia, and published earlier by Nature Medicine, indicate that the findings should be interpreted with caution, and that further research is still required, the authors report. Further research is also needed to determine the effects of the genetic susceptibility for schizophrenia on individual risk of developing the disorder, and to determine whether there are other pathways through which a person's risk is increased, e.g. Additional research is also needed to determine whether the observed associations are present for all patients regardless of their genetic background, or whether they are specific to a specific patient population due to individual differences in genetic background. In addition, further research is needed to investigate the role of shared genetic factors in individual risk for the development of both schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, as the latter is a complex syndrome in which many genes are found to be involved. The largest study to date
The largest study to date, spanning nearly a century, examined the genome-wide association study (WAS) results in the 1000 or so patients who were diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or other diagnoses. The study identified approximately 3.5 million SNPs, representing about 30% of the genome, that were considered to have a genetic association with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other diagnoses.. It is also estimated by Statistics Australia that more than 300,000 people will have to complete the census by the time the count is completed. Many businesses, organizations, and community groups will use the census to help them determine the types of people that need to be recruited, as well as how many people are staying or going to stay permanently in Australia. Getting in touch with Statistics Australia

I would give it a 5 except that when I go to edit a template, it shows up with over 1/2 or 3/4's of the page covered up! I have to keep closing it & reopening it to maybe finally work! Very frustrating.
