Open the document where the selection is locked in the Microsoft Word 2016 application on your computer. When the document opens, go to the Review tab and find and click on the option that says Restrict Editing. You will now see to restrict editing pane on your screen.
Step 1: Put the cursor before the part of document you will protect, and then click the Breaks > Continuous on the Page Layout tab. Then add a continuous break at the end of the part of document with same way. Step 2: Show the Restrict Editing pane with clicking the Restrict Editing button on the Review tab.
LOCK TABLES and UNLOCK TABLES interact with the use of transactions as follows: LOCK TABLES is not transaction-safe and implicitly commits any active transaction before attempting to lock the tables. UNLOCK TABLES implicitly commits any active transaction, but only if LOCK TABLES has been used to acquire table locks.
If you were to add BEGIN TRANSACTION (or BEGIN TRAN) before the statement it automatically makes the transaction explicit and holds a lock on the table until the transaction is either committed or rolled back.
