I didn't realize how much use I would… I didn't realize how much use I would make of this program, or the range of functions that it offers. I just got the free-version at first because I needed a digital signature. But now, as an academic, I find I use it all the time to share and to sign documents: now that everything is online and we have limited contact, this has become more important. Who can be a witness to a document? Is a spouse or other family member acceptable to act as a witness? Generally the person you choose to witness a document should have no financial or other interest in an agreement. A neutral third party is the best choice.
Subscribing witness A subscribing witness is an individual that is present when the signature takes place. This person is asked to appear in front of the notary, replacing the principal signer — in case the principal signer cannot personally appear for the signing.
You can add a Witness to an envelope by selecting the Signs with Witness recipient type. You can also add a Witness by selecting Add Witness Group from the ADD RECIPIENT dropdown.
An electronic signature can be witnessed like a wet ink signature, a witness who is physically present can observe a signatory adding their signature to a document electronically.
Your witnesses should then each sign above the words “Signature of witness 1” (or 2 as applicable) and then print in BLOCK CAPITALS their name, address and occupation on the succeeding lines beneath their signature.
