good program, found it easy to use. I really like the layouts and how user friendly it was. My only concern was the pricing for me, I only needed to use it for a couple of project a month and I found cheaper yearly memberships elsewhere

Grab a friend or a tripod. Pick a location inside with good lighting and a simple backdrop. Invest in additional lighting (if you're indoors). Equip your phone with the right camera apps. Clear up space on your phone. Block-off at least two hours for the shoot itself.
When choosing to clothe for your professional headshot: think classic. Pick your favorite suit that fits you well and is preferably a classic dark color like navy blue or gray. Choose a suit that doesn't bunch up when you button it or if you sit down, and a shirt and tie that match each other and the suit.
Dresses Look Great in a Headshot Heavier fabrics than a standard blouse or shirt look very nice. If you feel it is appropriate for your business and audience, a sleeveless dress that shows shoulders can look vibrant. Also, try a few photos with a blazer over the dress. Keep in mind necklines.
Go pro. Spend money it's worth it. Opt for personality over glamour. Remember: It's all about the eyes. Pay attention to framing, lighting, and background. Consider natural light vs. Don't go crazy with clothing and props. Go easy with the makeup.
Solid colors look great in headshots. If going with a pattern keep it simple. Start with a simple shirt or blouse and slowly add layers. Bring a few changes of clothes to the shoot. Make sure that ALL clothes are ironed and pressed before the shoot. Bring a lint brush or roller with you.
Plain colors are your best choice. Patterns or prints distract and date your photo. Choose mid- tone colors in blue, green, wine and purple because they are universally flattering. Avoid wearing tops in flesh tones (cream, beige, pastels, peach or yellow) as they will blend your face into your clothes.
Generally speaking, solid, neutral colors, work best for headshots, as you want to avoid anything that distracts away from people's faces. If it is a formal style you are looking to achieve, make sure that everyone gets the message, and remembers to bring formal work clothes with them.
