Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
When writing in American English, the right way to write a date is: May 1, 2016. The month always comes before the date and year. But, in a statement, you have to use ordinal numbers first and write. For example: The seminar will be held on the third of May 2016.
Dates in American English In written American English, the month of the date comes before the day and year. For example, Independence Day in the USA is on July 4th each year. In the year 2000 the date was 4/7/2000 in British English. In American English this is written 7/4/2000.
Sometimes, a date is written in long form, like this: Sunday, June 28, 2015 (note that there are commas after the day of the week and the day of the month, but there is no comma after the month). Sometimes, a date is written in numerical form, like this: 6/28/15 or 6/28/2015 (month/date/year).
The and of are optional but if you do use them, you must add both the and of. It is incorrect to say only 6th of September or the 6th September. As for the year, commas are not necessary when you write the date in British English, but you can if you prefer this style.
In American English, the month always precedes the day. In British English, the month follows the date. This holds no matter whether one writes the date by using numbers only or numbers and words. Note that, in American English, there is a comma before the year, but not in British English.
July 4, 1776, was an important day in American history. I was born on Sunday, May 12, 1968. The project will commence on 1 June 2018.

How to Write the Month and Day. When referring to a specific date in the month-day date format, use cardinal numbers (one, two, three) rather than ordinal numbers (first, second, third). This may feel counterintuitive because we normally use ordinal numbers when we speak of dates.
