Identity Verification Required for Unemployment Benefits An issue about your identity must be resolved. We must verify your identity to protect you from potentially fraudulent activity.
Use the Document Upload feature in UI Online to verify your identity. If we need you to verify your identity, you will get a message asking you to: Visit your UI Online homepage and select Upload Identity Documents. You will only see this option if there has been an issue verifying your identity.
To complete the verification process you'll need: A mobile phone with a camera or a computer with a webcam. An email address you have access to. Two or more identification documents (such as a driver's license, passport, passport card, or state ID)
Employment Record W-2 from last year. A pay stub or payment statement that shows: An issue date within 12 months prior to the date your claim was filed. Your first name (or initial) and last name. At least the last four digits of your Social Security number or your employee identification number. Your employer's name.
For us to verify your identity, you must provide two documents: One photo identification document. One other identity document.
It may take 30 days after you provide your verification for EDD to restore access to your account. If you need help with the ID.me process, you can find a step-by-step guide here. EDD says uploading your documents online is the quickest way to verify your identity but ID.me also offers a video call option.
