What is an Amortization Schedule?

An amortization schedule is a table that outlines each periodic payment on a loan over time, showing how much of each payment goes towards principal and interest. This tool is critical for both lenders and borrowers as it provides clarity on payment structures, timelines, and remaining balances.

Why organizations use an Amortization Schedule?

Organizations utilize an amortization schedule to accurately track financial obligations and maintain clarity in cash flow management. By using an irregular payments template, businesses can adapt their schedules to accommodate payments that do not occur at regular intervals, ensuring better financial forecasting and planning.

4 starts because of great chat support but some features I would change. Like when filling out fillable form, I don't like how the instruction window follows you through the entire document. Most other online forms don't have this because they assume the form is self-explanatory. The feature is cumbersome, like dragging around dead weight. Anyways, that is my input.

What do you like best?
Ease of use! Very intuitive program that does NOT require a lot of training to use.
What do you dislike?
I use the program infrequently in my present roll, so was surprised by the page lay-out change. It was a bit more difficult to simply pick it up and understand the new format.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Easy process and good program with a nice free trial, just not able to fit in my budget. Easy process, user-friendly, quick and efficient. I like that it let me trial it for a few days. I just don't have the money for a subscription right now and only needed to use it this one time.

User-friendliness: Excel is relatively user-friendly, so making an amortization schedule within the Excel program is fairly easy to do. Because of this, virtually anyone can create one of these schedules for their own business or personal financial purposes.
Enter "Original Balance" in cell A1, "Interest Rate (as a percentage)" in cell A2, "Term (in years)" in cell A3 and "Monthly Payment" in cell A4. Enter the corresponding values in cells B1 through B3. In cell B4, enter the formula "=-PMT(B2/1200,B3*12,B1)" to have Excel automatically calculate the monthly payment.
In Excel, the PMT (rate, nper, pv, [fv], [type]) function is used to calculate the payment amount. For consistency in payment frequencies, you should be consistent with the values supplied for the rate and nper arguments: Rate - It is the interest rate per period for the loan.
As these payments are periodic, you can schedule them beforehand to see the principal and interest amount you'll need to pay until you fully settle the loan. In Google Sheets, you can use the PMT, PPMT, and IPMT functions to create your own loan amortization schedule.
