5.10 The Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance), requires auditees to prepare a Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA) for the period covered by the auditee's financial statements.
The Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards inquiry includes the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) title and number, the grant number, the year of the grant, the name of the federal agency that provides the funds, and the name of the pass-through entity.
Governments that are subject to the Single Audit Act are required to prepare and have audited a Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA). [1] The SEFA reports amounts expended, not the amount received, during the fiscal year.
The SEFA can be presented on the accrual or cash basis of accounting. In addition to federally funded awards, cost-reimbursement federal contracts under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) are included.
