Simply highlight the row or column by clicking the marker above the column or to the left of the row. Then, click the "Home" tab in the ribbon menu. Click "Insert" and click "Delete Sheet Columns" to delete the highlighted column or "Delete Sheet Rows" to delete the highlighted row.
In the Home tab under the Cells group, click Format > Hide and Unhide > Hide Rows or Hide Columns. Or you can right click on the Excel worksheet in the column or row you want to hide and click hide. (This method will not work if you've typed in the row or column identifier.)
Select one or more columns, and then press Ctrl to select additional columns that aren't adjacent. Right-click the selected columns, and then select Hide.
Open the workbook and click a chart whose hidden data and empty cells you want to display. Click Design > Edit Data Source > Hidden and Empty Cells. Select 'Show data in hidden rows and columns'. From 'Show empty cells as', select an appropriate option then click OK.
Select your table. Press Shift + Alt + right arrow. You will see the Group dialog box appear. ... Now select the columns you want to hide one by one and press Shift + Alt + right arrow for each column.
Notes: (1) You can type the formula =EXTRACTNUMBERS(A2,TRUE) into selected cell directly, and then drag the Fill handle to the range as you need. (2) This EXTRACTNUMBERS function will also remove all kinds of characters except the numeric characters.
