Click the top menu item Tools->Options. Click View. Look for 'Formatting Marks', and uncheck the option 'All' Click OK.
Click "Editor Options" in the Compose Messages section and then select the "Display" side-tab. Uncheck "Paragraph Marks" and then click "OK" twice to close the Editor Options and Outlook Options windows.
To turn formatting marks on or off, do the following: In the message window, on the Format Text tab, in the Paragraph group, click the button that looks like a paragraph mark. (When you point your mouse at the button, the tooltip says Show/Hide ¶). Keyboard shortcut CTRL+SHIFT+*.
Click on Word Options. In the left pane of the Word Options dialog, click on Display. Locate the Paragraph marks option under the Always show these formatting marks on the screen section and uncheck the checkbox beside it to have Word hide the symbols. Click on OK and the change you have made will be applied.
Click the Microsoft Office Button , and then click Word Options. Click Display. Under Always show these formatting marks on the screen, select the check box for each formatting mark that you always want to display, regardless if the Show/Hide button is turned on or turned off.
Click the "Display" button on the top-left side of the "Word Options" window. Click the box next to "Paragraph marks" to remove the check from the box.
Place the cursor immediately above the horizontal line. On the Format Text tab, click the arrow next to the Borders and Shading button, and click No Border.
Click the line, connector, or shape that you want to delete, and then press Delete. Tip: If you want to delete multiple lines or connectors, select the first line, press and hold Ctrl while you select the other lines, and then press Delete.
4 Answers. You can create different styles of lines by typing specific characters three times, followed by Enter. You can also create graphic lines using Borders and Shading. In Outlook message editor go to the Insert tab and click the Horizontal Line button in the Symbols group (in the right side of the ribbon).
