Method 1: Check via the phone status Go to settings: Settings — About phone - Status - Signal strength. You will see two numbers, the first indicates phone signal strength (dBm), with 0 — 50dBm representing excellent signal strength.
Move up a floor (or multiple floors). Signal tends to be better on higher floors, as you're able to clear obstructions closer to ground level. Move closer to a window. Go outside. Move to higher ground. Find our where your closest cell tower is.
Simply find your way to Settings > About Phone, and your numerical signal strength will be available under either Network or Status, depending on the model of the phone you own. Being able to find the right menu screen varies across phone manufacturers, models and versions of Android OS.
Android users have the signal strength feature hidden deep down in Settings. Go to the Settings app > About phone > Status > SIM status > Signal Strength. You will see numbers expressed in dBm (decibel milliwatts).
Understanding LTE Signal Strength RSP The average power received from a single Reference signal, and Its typical range is around -44dbm (good) to -140dbm(bad). RRQ Indicates quality of the received signal, and its range is typically -19.5dB(bad) to -3dB (good).
For a reliable connection: The 4G LTE Signal should be greater than -58 dBm (e.g. -32 dBm). A value of -96 dBm indicates no signal. If the signal is between -82 dBm and -96 dBm, move the device to an alternate location (preferably an outdoor location).

Open up the Phone app and dial in *3001#12345#*, then hit Call . Field Test Mode will open up immediately, and you'll see the signal strength in dBm in the upper left corner of the screen. Tapping the number (or baubles) will toggle between dBm and little baubles.
Cell phone signal strength is measured in decibels (dBm). Signal strengths can range from approximately -30 dBm to -110 dBm. The closer that number is to 0, the stronger the cell signal. In general, anything better than -85 decibels is considered a usable signal.
Open the Settings app on iPhone or iPad. Go to Wi-Fi Under the Wi-Fi network list, locate the name of the Wi-Fi network or wireless router you want to check the signal strength for.
Not show a signal. Fail to connect to Wi-Fi. Not connect to data services. Drop calls. Download slowly.
