Needed some Quick 1099's - PDF Filler Came to the Rescue Good product for what it is designed for. Downloaded this in a pinch when I need to get a vendor a 1099 last minute. Couldn't find anything that would allow me to do this on the IRS website and PDF Filler allowed to complete one in a matter of minutes. Definite a lifesaver and helped me save a relationship with a vendor. Automatic renewal snuck up on me. I didn't mind paying for it the first year, but this year I didn't need it.

To adjust the width of a spreadsheet column, move the mouse cursor between the column headers until the cursor changes to a horizontal double-sided arrow. Once the arrow is visible, click and drag the mouse to the right or left to increase or decrease the column width.
Locate and click the Select All button. Position the mouse over a row line, so the white cross becomes a double arrow. Click, hold, and drag the mouse to increase or decrease the row height. Release the mouse when you are satisfied with the new row height for the worksheet.
Use the format button The Format button in the cells group under the Home tab can also be used to adjust widths and heights. Simply select the cells that need to be adjusted, then click on the Format button and choose either Row Height or Column Width. Type in your desired number, and the cells will adjust.
Microsoft Excel allows you resize column width to AutoFit the text, meaning each column will be sized according to the longest string of text in the column.

Open Excel and choose a document to load. Place the mouse pointer inside a cell and click to select it. Click the Format icon in the ribbon (on the right side) and select Column Width (or Row height if you want to change the height of a Row instead). Enter the desired width, and press OK.
For example, there is no simple and direct way to change cell width without affecting the whole column. While it's easy to change the width a column, the only way to adjust Excel cell width for one cell and not the rest of the column is to merge the cell with one next to it.
