Select the field whose data type you want to change. Select the Fields tab, then locate the Formatting group. Click the Data Type drop-down arrow. Select the desired data type. Selecting a new field data type. The field data type will be changed.
There is a formula that can quickly convert dd/mm/YYY to mm/dd/yyyy date format. Select a blank cell next to the dates you want to convert, type this formula =DATE(VALUE(RIGHT(A9,4)), VALUE(MID(A9,4,2)), VALUE(LEFT(A9,2))), and drag fill handle over the cells which need to use this formula.
The YYYY - MM - DD format is the only method of writing a numeric date in Canada that allows unambiguous interpretation, and the only officially recommended format. The presence of the DD / MM / BY (international) and MM / DD / YY (American) formats often results in misinterpretation.
Description. The Microsoft Access Format function takes a date expression and returns it as a formatted string.
Long Date: Display a date according to your system's long date format. Medium Date: Display a date using the medium date format appropriate for the language version of the host application. Short Date: Display a date using your system's short date format.
Short format: dd/mm/yyyy (Day first, month number and year in left-to-right writing direction) in Afar, French and Somali (“d/m/yy" is a common alternative).
