Hey guys, so I've got something new to show you I've been working on some wireless Arduino stuff, and I've got two little things here this one is a receiver a little of close-up in a second and this one is a transmitter they work on their 433 megahertz band and I just have a little crappy aerials just want to curled up it's about 30 centimeters long and this one's about 25 centimeters long and this one's kind of monopoly antenna, but basically it's just a straighter wire and this one's curled up I don't know why it should be curled up it just said so in the data sheet now I assume it's got something to do with the frequency and the wavelength or something like that I'm sure someone will be able to tell you I've looked it up, but I didn't understand it, so I'm just going to tell you how you can connect these now it uses the virtual wire library which is freely available on the internet just give it search you'll find loads of tutorials about it but when I looked it up I found it really difficult to get started it seemed it was easy to send a standard char array of stuff like a constant charm is that what it's called something like that anyway, but I wanted to send integer variables across it in fact I wanted to set a float I wanted to use stuff going from a potentiometer and I wanted to use stuff coming from proximity ultrasonic sensor and I also want to be able to send data from a hole effect sensor which I bought yet, but I will do now these little things here they cost me five pounds from eBay now I really wanted to get in locally unfortunately they didn't have them in Marlin which is the closest shot to me now I always recommend getting local stuff if you don't buy it locally you know eventually it'll disappear and no one will stop it anymore, so it's a good idea to buy locally if you can even if it means spending a little more money, but unfortunately these weren't available I do try and get things locally where I can then now these work with three pins each, so you've got five volt and ground, and you also have a data pin, and it does some kind of software serial things, so it gets the data from your Arduino and send it out on feeds and encodes it in an unsigned int with 8-bit encoding, so it's like a byte, and it will send that off over this wireless transmission thing and there are various things in the library that ensure that the receiver realizes it's received the entire message before we do anything with it now at the moment I'm using an ultrasonic sensor and receiving with this, so I'm sending a distance thing with the ultrasonic sensor and receiving it over here and displaying it over serial now I'm using the telly mate shield which I show you one of my other videos which is a perfect way of just seeing what's coming out on the serial monitor, and you can also format it, so its nice something like that, but I can plug it into a TV or in this case I've got one of those old portable LCD's and if you do various things like you can send...
