Instructions and Help about 2013 unemployability form

Hi my name is Chris Anakin with the veterans' law blog you can find us at Veterans Law Blog org today's video blog entry is going to answer one of the most commonly asked VA questions I'm going to get to that in a minute, but I want to do a special thank you to a group that's really helping to get the word out to veterans Babylon the VA I'm here today on how to calm I want to give a special thank you to the folks here at had it calm who invited me to guest post on their blog I look forward to regularly contributing to the had a comment I'm Z CH month both through video posts and through written blog posts a special shout-out to Theresa you'll probably know her as T bard who has given me a list of questions about the VA claims process that many veterans just can't find the answers to, so today I want to talk to you about a question that a lot of veterans ask me and I haven't been able to find the answer online that question is if I get a 100% rating should I keep fighting the VA for more service-connected disability benefits let's jump right into the answer a lot of veterans most veterans perceive the hundred percent rating as the end of the line the sign of victory over the VA hamster wheel in fact when a veteran tells me that they use my blog books or some of my training videos to win their own VA claim I envision them celebrating their victory over the VA s red tape machine by running up those famous rocky steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art now if you don't know what I'm talking about you need to go watch the movie Rocky one of the classics one of the most inspirational scenes of all time is when rocky runs up those famous rocky steps, but anyway I digress a little is it really over when you get to 100% service-connected rating well for sure the hard part is, but I think there's at least six reasons that you might want to consider continuing the battle against the VA even after you reach one hundred percent of course it's a very personal decision I'm not advising you to do that this isn't legal advice and I just want to give you enough information so that you can understand how to make that decision for yourself so let's talk about six scenarios that I've seen where a veteran might want to continue fighting the VA even after they've reached the 100% ratings mark so first if you're 100% rating is based on TDI you then it may not be permanent, and you may want to keep fighting what does that mean there are several paths to a 100% rating in VA compensation one of the most common is the TDI you claim now the court has told us it doesn't want us call these TDI you claim, but I'm not before the court right now I'm talking in layman's language I'm talking with my fellow veterans so a TDI you claim is what we call it those of you that don't know what TDI you are it's a claim for benefits based on total disability individual employability essentially it says that you get a 100% rating when you're service-connected disability or a combination of...
