Instructions and Help about DE WCWT-6 - Wilmington

Okay guys, so today we're going to go ahead and replace some struts on the 2006 Saturn due this is a high mileage vehicle original struts two hundred and four thousand miles on the odometer, so this is definitely good they're not going to be in good condition we're going to start here by removing the front wheel I spent a lot of this up too, so you don't have to watch at all I'm using my battery-powered impact wrench which I much prefer over air any time you take your wheel off it's a good time to inspect it, so this is a good time to take a look make sure you don't have any nails or anything in there, so now we're going to talk about what we need to remove you see with the steering knuckle is there are two bolts that have to remove there and then also a clamp that holds it holds the ABS sensor and the brake cable so on the backside here there's a sway bar also has two removed so when we first start here we're going to start by removing the clamp that holds on they be a sensor and the brake fluid cable, and then we'll just unhook that and there's a clamp on the backside there sorry I didn't get better camera angles here Maya tripod broke, so I have a fixed angle here, so you just squeeze it, and it pops out, and I'm going to show you our t right there you go ahead just squeeze it, and it was pops out for you so you just can tuck that away to the back there and out of the way and the next step here we're going to be removing the sway bar and to do that you're going to need an Allen wrench, and you're going to also need a box end wrench, and I'll pop up here in a second which ones you'll need to use, but it believe it's like a six millimeter Allen wrench, and then I forgot what size that box end is, but you absolutely have to do it this way otherwise it'll just spin and make sure you use the correct size because if you do not use the correct size on this it's going to strip it out the center of that bolt, and you're going to be having a bad time so make sure to use the correct size Allen key to take that out it should just slide out if it doesn't just give it a pop with the mallet it should just pop out for you now moving on to the more difficult part first I'm going to show you how easy this can be with either an air ratchet I mean I ratchet but an impact wrench or in power battery-powered unit there it just pops it right off so bolt that note it literally just came right off next I'm going to show you how I did it using just you know handheld tools you'll need a fulcrum something to extend out your ratchet to give you some more leverage when you're trying to loosen this bolt now there's another side to the bolt where you can grab it, but you really don't need to because the bolt itself is shafted, and it's held into that knuckle, so you actually have to pound it out once you're done here I've tried a couple different ways I really did and the nothing worked besides getting a mallet out and smacking it with the nut on the end, so you saw that I...
