Today we're going to be talking about the differences between garage liability and commercial auto liability and how it pertains to tow truck drivers so a lot of times when I get clients new clients that come in a lot of times they don't understand the difference between garage liability and commercial auto liability a lot of times I just come in with commercial auto liability because that is what DLR the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation requires them to have to operate their tow truck right commercial auto and cargo well a lot of times they don't understand what garage liability is and that's basically where I come in and that's my job because everything is fine and dandy if you're driving your tow truck right, and you know god forbid you get into an accident right you hit somebody you cause bodily injury or property damage to their vehicle you're covered right but what happens the moment you step away from your tow truck right, so you're you're doing roadside assistance changing a tire right, or you're you're hooking up somebody's vehicle and the cable snaps what do you do then what coverage is going to protect you then well unfortunately your commercial auto policy doesn't cover that because you're not driving right the vehicle isn't moving the moment you step away from your vehicle that is when you need to have garage liability right that is going to protect you if you cause any property damage or bodily injury to somebody while performing your job okay you're no longer driving so anyways this is just a quick video on the differences between garage liability and commercial auto liability I would love the opportunity to be able to explain that in further detail to you that's all I have for today this if this video was helpful please remember to like and share it and thanks have a great day have a wonderful day Leonard am L with you Mel insurance agency thank you
