Interpretive Center: Perform interpretive services and advise visitors on their park experiences such as the history and natural resources of the area as well as interpretive information for current park events. Lighthouse and tide pool guide: Answer questions of visitors about these natural features. Light administrative and housekeeping tasks: Perform light administrative and housekeeping services at the Aquinas Head Outstanding Natural Area Interpretive Center as appropriate. PARK RACES: Interpretive staff are not responsible for race events. Duties and Responsibilities: Visitor Center: Provide information about the park and interpretive programs. Natural science programs include (but not limited to): marine biology, paleontology, paleontology and paleontological interpretation, ecology, climate. Interpretive Center: Assist visitor in understanding natural history and how animals, plants and people interact. Lighthouse and tide pool guide: Answer questions of visitors about the natural environment of this area from the historical lighthouse to the tidal pools and tide pools themselves. Light administrative and housekeeping tasks: Perform light administrative and housekeeping services at the Aquinas Head Outstanding Natural Area Interpretive Center as appropriate. All administrative tasks performed at Aquinas Head Outstanding Natural Area Interpretive Center are performed by park staff. The Center is staffed by field biologists and professional staff with knowledge of the areas natural history and interpretation. Lighthouse and tide pools: Operate the lighthouses lights and the tide pools as needed but will not be engaged in the daily maintenance or maintenance of the tide pools. Please review the hours of operation frequently to ensure your services will be provided during the appropriate hours. The Lighthouse and Tidal pools are managed by the Park Naturalists Department. Volunteer: Must provide their own shoes, swimsuit and towel or may have access to one. Must be within 10 miles of the site. Must be at least 18 years old. Must be available to assist visitors daily for at least 14 consecutive days. Non-Vocational: Must be able to lift 25 lbs. as a volunteer. Park visitors do not need to complete employment eligibility forms for this volunteer position. Volunteer applicants will be considered for employment as assigned unless otherwise noted. Applicants must supply a current driver's license along with a passport photo. If the applicant cannot contact his or her passport photo on file then there will be an additional 50 fee charged as an alternative.
