Instructions and Help about VA State Park Passes

Smelling roses here today we're in Faultier County in Northern Virginia and welcome to sky Meadows State Park this is going to be a short hike today it's very late in the evening and there's only a couple of more hours of daylight left, and I'm going to be utilizing many trails, so I probably won't mention the trail names in the video, but I will put a detailed description down below the video of my route in case anyone is interested I want to do a shout-out for my very good friend what not 987 he gave me some tips on some trails I should check out while I'm here this evening this hike kind of came together last minute and I didn't really do much PRE hike planning or research before coming out here so special thanks to whatnot 987 for giving me some suggested trails alright guys, so our hike started down there by those white farm buildings and so far it's been pretty moderate climb straight up this hill through a cow pasture, but we've been able to enjoy some awesome views mainly to the east as we climb up this Ridge a little hazy on the very distant horizon hard for the camera to pick up all right so if you need a break after climbing up this steep hill there's a very nice bench constructed here, and you can sit out and enjoy this awesome view since this bench is here it kind of leads me to believe that this may be one of the official overlooks along the trail and if I'm right about that then this spot would be the lower Piedmont overlook alright guys, so we have reached the upper Piedmont overlook, and you can see — nice bitches constructed here, and I have dropped my pack I'm going to take a short break here and have some water and maybe a snack, and I'm also going to study the trail map and try to figure out where I'm going to go from here excellent view here from the upper Piedmont overlook pretty much the same view we had from the lower overlook we're just a little higher in elevation here at this point alright guys the trail is about to cross this short clearing this feature is not shown on the map, but I believe it is a right-of-way for a natural gas pipeline all right guys we have another really excellent overlook here the view here is again off the mountain to the east and sort of to the northeast and my trail map calls this the White House overlook we are on the ambassador White House trail however there is a sign here indicating that this is Paris view and there is a very small town near the state park called Paris Virginia perhaps that's the name of this overlook, and you can see there's a gate right there, but it is locked and presumably this property is outside the State Park there's a sign here property of the Piedmont Environmental Council, but there's some very interesting ruins just over there sure what that's about or what the history of this area is some very interesting rock walls or perhaps building foundations there okay guys so the Ambassador White House trail continues in this direction, and it actually connects with...
