Certification Requirements and Other Responsibilities: Applicants for certification as a food handler (FH) or bartender (BB, BP, BB/B), or as a bartender-preparer (BP-C), must have: (1) passed an examination which is administered by the Commission; (2) successfully completed an orientation session which is not less than thirty (30) days; (3) successfully completed six (6) (see C.R. No. 459) additional hours of training to include, but is not limited to, the following materials: (a) ABC of Food Handling and Bartending, (b) a statement describing the type of operations performed by a food handler and bartender (e.g. biologist, bartender-mixer, and bartender-receiver), (c) a basic statement on the basic principles for serving beverages within an establishment, a statement on the ingredients required for beverage preparation, and a statement on the characteristics of alcoholic beverages and the types of alcoholic beverages served within the establishment (D.G. 1 Section A-1), (d) a statement describing how to evaluate a beverage by color, texture, taste, odor, or flavor (e.g. color, odor, taste, and texture), (e) a statement describing procedures for conducting tastings (e.g. by taste and smell, by aroma or appearance, by taste and flavor), and (f) a statement describing procedures for analyzing, labeling, and storing alcoholic beverages. (4) completed the certification training provided to them at a training center. (5) passed a background check which includes, but is not limited to, the following: fingerprinting, background investigation, and references check; (6) successfully completed the following: (a) written exam;
