Swap data repositories (“SDRs”) are new entities created by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (“Dodd-Frank Act”) in order to provide a central facility for swap data reporting and recordkeeping.
It is true that swap execution facilities, swap data repositories, and derivatives clearing organizations are not required to be members of the NFA. While they are regulated and must register with the CFTC, NFA membership is not mandatory for these entities.
