The EIPA Written Test fee is $260.00. The test fee is required at the time of registration. Some proctors charge a proctor fee. Contact the proctor prior to registering to inquire about possible proctor fees.
A score of 75% or above is required to pass the test. Test candidates will be informed if they passed or failed the test at the test site.
The EIPA Performance Test evaluates the ability to expressively interpret classroom content and discourse and the ability to receptively interpret student sign language.
The EIPA Written Test is an online multiple-choice test. There is a 4-hour limit. After 4 hours, your test will automatically be submitted. There are 176 questions.
A score of 75% or above is required to pass the test. Test candidates will be informed if they passed or failed the test at the test site.
The EIPA has been developed to provide an ecologically valid assessment of an educational interpreter's skills. The EIPA is designed to evaluate the skills of interpreters working with deaf children, a form of interpretation which is significantly different than interpreting for deaf adults.
It is not limited to any one sign language or system. EIPA is used to evaluate interpreters who work with students who use predominately American Sign Language (ASL)and Pidgin Sign English (PSE). The test fee is $365. An additional $85 fee may be charged by an approved local test administrator.
Printed results are not provided at the test site. The EIPA Diagnostic Center provides coaching reports to all test takers and certificates to individuals who passed the test. Test takers can expect to receive their results the first or second week following the test month.
