07 ppm. There is significant interest among the public and private sectors in developing an innovative technology to enable the elimination or treatment of some ozone pollution in the HUB area. A new report by the CEQ Data Analysis Team highlights key areas, trends, and uncertainties in the technology-demonstration planning, with an emphasis on the potential market for these technologies. This report is not intended to replace further investigation by CEQ staff and the research and evaluation community. It is a valuable contribution to the dialogue, provided one realizes that it provides just a few key dimensions of the issues presented for discussion. The technology-demonstration process is not a one-size-fits-all approach, and each project is different in terms of its goals, funding, and objectives. We must not assume that technologies in the HUB area will work for all the types of situations, as most will not, or that solutions will be applicable everywhere, all at the same time. The information presented in this report is intended to support the development of a strong and effective public-private-academic collaboration to provide options and opportunities to help achieve attainment of the NAANS. It also should not be considered a definitive assessment of the technologies, nor does it make any judgments or determinations about the potential market value of these technologies. The report and related literature, is available on the CEQ Data Analysis Team's website. CEQ Response to the Report CEQ staff read the report and are taking a number of relevant actions in response. This section summarizes the most significant actions CEQ staff is taking. These actions are not a substitute for CEQ's analysis and subsequent recommendations to the EPA. For additional information, CEQ staff will continue this effort via a public meeting and outreach to key individuals. Staff will review and update, as appropriate, current guidelines or best practices for ozone and/or particle control programs. Some of this material was already addressed in a CEQ study completed in June 2009. CEQ will issue an interim report on the report and consider updating its recommended options in September 2009. This report is a “work in progress” which should continue for several months. A more detailed report is expected to be published in April 2010. The EPA announced that CEQ would be reviewing the proposed HUB ozone standard. The CEQ data analysis team began work on preliminary ozone modeling.
