One CPE hour is earned for each hour of active participation. Active participation includes, but is not limited to, the development, implementation, and/or maintenance of a chapter website. Such activities can be counted more than once toward each ISACA designation that is held.
What Are CPE Credits Quick Facts. CPAs must complete 40 hours of CPE every year. 1 CPE credit is equal to 50 minutes of approved learning. Each State Board of Accountancy can set its own additional CPE requirements or stipulations.
CPE credits are granted based on the sum of the total time in eligible sessions. Participants are eligible for one CPE credit for all 50-minute eligible sessions, and 1.5 credits for all 90-minute eligible sessions.
CPE credits are earned by enrolling in webinars, on-demand webinars, live events, and self-study courses on a wide variety of accounting related topics. Self-study courses are completed individually and require a test or exam to earn CPE credit.
Partial credit can be issued on longer webinars if either the time or poll requirements are met. For example: if you are logged into a 2 CPE webinar and answer 6 polls, but you only attend for 95 minutes, you will earn 1.5 CPE.
CPE credits have always been calculated based on a 50-minute hour. To calculate CPE credits, the total number of minutes are divided by 50 to determine the recommended number of credits.
Total time of instruction is 75 minutes. Rounding down to the nearest increment, use the following guidance: To the whole credit: 1.0 CPE credit. To one-half credit: 1.5 CPE credits.
