A student who does not meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy is considered ineligible for financial aid. However, UC Merced allows a student to appeal their financial aid ineligibility if they have special circumstances that prevented them from meeting SAP.
MAXIMUM TIME FRAME. Units attempted or total enrolled terms may not exceed 150% of the published length of your program. UNDERGRADUATE. Maximum time frame for undergraduate students is 270 units attempted. This is 150% of the 180 units required for you to obtain your degree.

Santa Monica College defines “units attempted” (or “attempted units”) as being all the units of credit for all the classes a student was officially enrolled in on or after the first census date of an academic term, in which the student received a grade of A (4.0), B (3.0), C (2.0), D (1.0), or F (0.0).
