The Tartan Summer Grant program was established to assist Carnegie Mellon undergraduate students interested in taking summer coursework to stay on track for major requirements or on-time graduation, to proactively prepare for an upcoming semester, or for other academically driven reasons.
Internships are available throughout the year. Interns receive a competitive salary and access to Carnegie Mellon University facilities and campus. While we offer internships in a variety of different fields, students in the following disciplines are encouraged to apply: Computer Engineering.
A Carnegie Mellon Undergraduate Grant is awarded by the university to incoming students who have demonstrated financial need, which is determined through the application process. Students who complete and submit a FAFSA and CSS Profile are considered for this grant.
Carnegie Mellon meets 100% of demonstrated financial need for all undergraduate students who are U.S. citizens and permanent residents, regardless of their family income.
Carnegie Mellon offers need-based financial aid and is committed to meeting the full demonstrated need of U.S. citizens, permanent residents and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) students. We also follow a need-blind admission policy, meaning your financial ability will not impact your admission decision.
Demonstrated Interest/Fit A measure of a student's desire to attend a particular college shown through campus visits, contact with admission officers and other actions that show engagement with the college. Carnegie Mellon does not consider demonstrated interest in our admissions decisions.
