Must not have attended an undergraduate degree program at Oregon State University in the past three years. Must have not been awarded a stipend/scholarship or an instructor stipend last Fall 2017. Must agree that an experiential learning assignment will enhance a student's employment prospects. Students receiving an experience-based stipend will be expected to pursue or pursue employment in the field of employment associated with the experiential learning program. Students receiving an experiential education stipend will be expected to attend school as needed to graduate from school with the experience-based education stipend. Students receiving two or more experience-based education stipends must complete a minimum of 60 credits to obtain the experience-based education stipend. Students receiving an experiential learning stipend will receive credit for every semester of experience, without regard to the credit hours used. A student's experiential learning will be judged based upon academic achievement, course load, student success, time in a career-relevant learning experience, and professional development skills. An experiential learning assignment is considered credit hours when it meets the following standard: The experience must be directly related to the student's undergraduate degree requirements The experience must directly benefit the student in meeting his/her course requirement The experiential learning must have a tangible and measurable impact on a student's current academic performance The student must be able to demonstrate that the experiential learning is related to the course being taken in the future The experiential experience must be consistent with college-wide experiences that prepare students to enter careers in the profession or occupation for which the student intends to apply. Course Prerequisites. An experiential learning assignment must be appropriate for the course to which it is assigned. If the experiential learning assignment is required beyond the semester or quarter to which it is assigned, the student must submit a letter from the instructor of the course to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at, prior to enrolling in the next class, stating the specific requirements of the experiential learning assignment. The assignment must be considered consistent with course content and expectations (e.g. no work experience in order to work toward a degree).
