There are two ways students can request to change their housing assignment: Room Change and Room Swap. A Room Change occurs when a student is interested in changing rooms and does not have a person to switch with. A Room Swap occurs when students agree to switch rooms with each other.
Students can do room swaps anytime, they simply need to fill out the room swap form at the online housing application website, then wait for an email confirming the swap.
The room change request form can be accessed by logging into the housing portal via the Housing Forms card in NYU Home. Our ability to accommodate room change requests is based on availability, which is often limited by high on-campus occupancy levels and limited vacancies.
Students may retrieve their NYU ID and leave the hall beginning at 7:00 a.m. each day. All students must be in their rooms and adhere to quiet hours at 1:00 a.m. nightly. Students are required to submit their NYU ID Card to the residence hall front desk each night to meet the curfew requirement.
