These projects are responsible for the design, development and testing of the experimental hardware s and for developing the software tools and libraries. The CERN code base contains 603 projects comported by over 20 independent CERN teams. These projects include the ATLAS experiment (CERN experiment in charge of proton physics, CERN collaboration s, including ATLAS experiment), CMS experiment (LHC experiments working in proton physics, CMS experiment), the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) which is responsible for the Higgs boson data analysis, the HOC in charge of all mass-energy conversions in the LHC experiments, and the TEV experiment at CERN. It is the responsibility of the ATLAS experiment to provide the software for the development of the experimental devices, while CMS is responsible for the operation and commissioning of the experiments. It is not possible to develop an LHC experiment without the help and contributions of other collaboration s. The ATLAS experiments are located in three locations in the LHC — in the CFT detectors (CERN-Champlain Tunnel), the Gran Basso detector (CERN-Grenoble Tunnel), and the Super shells, the detector s working in proton physics, in the LHC, where proton collisions are performed. All the ATLAS instruments and software are written in Java and C/C++, run with Java/C++ compiler. The ATLAS C++ code is based on a C/C++ 2008 version of the C++ compilers, and includes the Java C compiler and the Java compiler written in the Java programming language. For each project in the c/c++ codebase, the C++ developers (the authoring team of the project) are responsible for its implementation, maintenance, and development in the respective language. The C/C++ developer s work with an experienced C# developer team. The C/C++ development team includes over 60 different project and STS testers (Jens Hochstetter and Alexander Any).
