Chair Professor, Department of Physics, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia Abstract: The objective of the Symposium on Relativistic Inflation is to address fundamental problems in the physics of relativistic effects in cosmological models such as cosmic inflation, and to provide the tools for their investigation in future experiments. These questions have attracted the attention of physicists as far apart as the early stages of the inflationary theory in its early stages at the LEP in 1975, a decade later with inflation occurring at a higher energy scale, and with the detection of B-mode polarization at the Planck satellite to the present day. The symposium will address the nature of quantum effects in the early universe, the nature of inflation with respect to a cosmological constant, the properties of the early Universe at a spatial scale of the Planck scale, and the nature of particle acceleration in the early Universe. The program will include a short talk by Prof. Schuyler and a number of panel discussions which could include theoretical discussions, or physical experiments as well as experiments conducted for the first time. It will also include an informal roundtable of the participants, to discuss their contributions. In addition to the full program, each paper will be followed by a question and answer session in which the paper will be briefly discussed. The Symposium on Relativistic Inflation is an annual meeting designed both to generate ideas for future experiments, particularly those at the Planck satellite, and to bring together a diverse group of physicists to exchange ideas and exchange views on this pressing but fascinating problem. The Symposium takes place in the heart of one of Australia's most cosmopolitan areas, Chico, in the beautiful foothills of the Cook River Valley. Our program and our symposium venue are inspired by the beauty of the area and its culture. The venue also provides a place for some of our guests to take advantage of the excellent international restaurants, coffee houses and shops which are a feature of this very cosmopolitan area. The venue is very easily accessible and is within convenient walking and bus travel distance. The Symposium is organized by the members of the Department of Physics at University of New South Wales, Sydney. The program, speakers and the public program are all co-ordinated, developed and managed entirely by the members of the Department and the various group members in the Department as determined by collective agreement. The Symposium has been organised into two separate activities which have been separately organized for the first time.
