Scholarship recipients shall be children, under 18 years of age, who are: full time students in high school, high school diploma or high school equivalency school, or their equivalent; or working toward a Bachelor's degree or equivalent credential; and are in need of financial support. Scholarship recipients must be current members of the American Underwriters Association. Scholarship recipients may qualify to attend public or private technical colleges. Eligibility for the scholarship is not limited to members of the UNDER. However, in order to be eligible to apply for the scholarship, members of the UNDER are required to have obtained the equivalent of a 3-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent credential. If a member has not completed a Bachelor's degree within 3 years of joining the American Underwriters Association, the scholarship is void and no scholarship can be awarded. Members may not apply for or be awarded this scholarship more than once in the fiscal year. The application is due no later than March 1, 1999.
