There will also be a variety of opportunities for attendees to interact with nature and share their own green and sustainable ideas for an event that is more than just the average Arbor Day. This year we also welcome a guest speaker, Dr. Bob Larger of the New York Botanical Garden, to share his enthusiasm for the Arborist and his mission to engage the public to learn more about the plants, animals, landscapes, and history they visit every day. Arborist 2012 will also host a variety of activities for our participants: Earth Hour Concert (7PM) — This concert will feature musical performances from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Arboretum, the outdoor amphitheater located on the west side of the arboretum, from which participants will enter the Arborist 2012 Park and enjoy a unique perspective of forest and park, and enjoy an atmosphere of light and musical music featuring a wide variety of performances. Please note that this event is not open to the public. If you wish to attend, please come to Anderson Earth Day or Arboretum Arborist 2012, located at 11 AM at Memorial Park. The concert will be held at the Arboretum and adjacent lawn, from the corner of Anderson Road and East Anderson Road. This year's concert will feature the world-famous band, the Green River Girls. Dinner on the Green (5PM — 8PM) — This banquet will offer a delightful taste of the Anderson Community as we celebrate Arbor Day, and as we celebrate the natural beauty of our forest and parks, and share our own natural and human-driven ideas for better forest and park land stewardship. From 5-8PM, our guests will have an opportunity to join us in enjoying locally grown, farm-to-table food. Parking at the Arboretum is available upon request on a first-come, first-serve basis. As there is limited parking on the University of Indiana campus, please do not park along Anderson Road nor in the east parking lots, as we may experience a drop-off/arrival traffic delay. At the same time, please do remember to leave plenty of space for vehicles that are coming or going from the Anderson Campus.
