This AD establishes an ad hoc procedure for dealing with performable inspections and inspections performed in an incompatible way. This AD is issued for A8-8C aircraft which have flown more than 60 hours unless in special cases authorized by ASD or EASA. It will not apply to any new aircraft which ASD requests to be included in such an ad hoc procedure as provided in ASD guidance SOP-30-7A-0810 in EASA APAC-2. When an engine is required to undergo an unscheduled engine overhaul, the new engine will be subject to ad hoc procedures issued as per the ad hoc procedure described in this AD. When an aircraft is in repair in-country or the new aircraft or new equipment is not compatible with the ASD specified maintenance schedule in paragraph SOP30-7A-0810, it is recommended that a separate ad hoc ASD Maintenance Notification be issued to the aircraft. This AD is not issued for any of the engine and aircraft type registration ASD type registration documents (e.g. CIR No.), maintenance requirements (e.g. CIR No), non-operating hours (e.g. CIR No.), the type certificate (CIR No) and/or the type certificate maintenance schedule. It does not affect the ad hoc approval that is normally required for new aircraft being registered to the type certification category and having a new engine. Note : If in any case in this AD an ad hoc procedure is issued or continued, it will cease once it is no longer necessary or requested by EASA. A8-8C, for example, can still be used to perform any of the tests necessary for the issuance certificate of the new engines. Therefore, it is recommended that any maintenance procedures for this AD be carried out on a regular basis. Maintenance notices will be issued on a need-to basis in the aircraft on the basis of the ad hoc procedure to which the aircraft is subject.

The safety management system must contain a mechanism which allows the authorized maintenance personnel to monitor the maintenance of any individual component, and ensure that the maintenance of the component is carried out in accordance with the approved maintenance schedule and other relevant ASD documentation.
